(4) Is it decreed [and confirmed in a favorable case], by the command [of your great divinity, Šamaš, great lord? Will he who can see, see it? Will he who can hear, hear it]? (Break) (r 1) Let them be taken [out and put aside]![I ask you, Šamaš, great lord, whether, (should) Esar]haddon, king [of Assyria], appoint the man whose name is written in [this papyrus and placed before your great divinity, to the position which is] written [in this papyrus ...] (Rest destroyed)
